James and Dave met in 3rd grade and have been best friends ever since. Both were ambitious and hardworking young men so no one was surprised when they decided to start a business together in 2004.
They worked on the business plan for more than a year, hoping to combine James’ experience managing large networks with Dave’s experience in startups and finance. They believed there was an unmet need in the IT industry for a service provider that could do more than than install computers and administer networks. They intended to deliver custom technology solutions that improved business outcomes and contributed to their clients bottom line.
So in 2005, Dave and James rented a 100 square foot office in downtown Modesto and started working for their first client, Svenhard’s Swedish Bakery. The office was so small that they had to stack servers on top of a mini-fridge and take business calls in the hallway. But their hunch was correct … Central Valley businesses caught wind of Datapath’s unique model and soon Datapath was growing like crazy.
Datapath is now a mature technology company with nearly $10M in annual revenue and dozens of active clients, including major municipalities, large school districts and Fortune 500 companies. Datapath continues to grow at double digit rates and looks forward to introducing exciting new products and services in the coming years.
Dave and James are thankful for the opportunity to give back to the communities that have enabled Datapath’s success. Our efforts are currently focused on organizations that serve young people or encourage economic development and innovation in the Central Valley region, and Datapath helps by making financial contributions and assisting with operational objectives.
